Joe was born May 23, 1940 in Dayton Ohio. His family returned to the family farm outside Wawaka where he graduated from high school in 1958. Joe has a BS from Michigan State University, where he was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honorary Fraternity. Joe also attended the Indiana University School of Law. He served as an officer in the US Army in Germany. After returning from Germany he was a buyer in the Purchasing Department of CTS Corp. in Elkhart. From 1966 on he has been a real estate broker, establishing Todd Realty, Inc. in Syracuse and adding the North Webster office in 2004. Joe has extensive education in the real estate business. He is a Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI), a Certified Residential Broker (CRB), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and a REALTOR Emeritus. Joe is also a licensed real estate salesman in Florida. During his real estate career he has mentored several successful Realtors in Kosciusco County.
Joe has been active in the community also. He is a member of the Elks and the American Legion. Joe is a past Director and past President of the Kosciusko Board of REALTORS. He is a past Director of the Indiana Association of REALTORS, a past Director and a past President of the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce, and a past Trustee of the Turkey Creek regional Sewer District, where he served as Secretary. Joe is a past President of the Indiana CRB Chapter.
Joe was an innovator of the storage condominium idea in Kosciusko County. He developed the first storage condominium in the county, the Wawasee Storage Condominiums. During his career he has developed several other condominium complexes, including Syracuse Lake Condominiums, Park Shore Place in Warsaw, and The Crossings, Marsh Harbor, and
Pier 343 on Lake Wawasee. He and his wife, Susan, live on Lake Wawasee and enjoy boating, the fireworks, and participating in other lake activities.
