January 19, 2022
1st Quarter General Business Meeting
The Kosciusko Board of REALTORS® (KBOR) inducted their KBOR/MLS Board of Directors at their First Quarter General Business Meeting on January 19, 2022, at the Owl’s Nest, North Webster, Indiana.
President Angie Jarrett, Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group, will lead the 2022 KBOR/MLS Board of Directors while Julie Hall, Patton Hall Real Estate was appointed 2022 KBOR MLS President.

KBOR Members welcomed Alexis Meyers, Local Government Affairs Director, at the 1st Quarter General Business Meeting. She provided educational information regarding RPAC’s benefits and plans for 2022.

REALTOR® Member, Nikki Lewis Attends Meeting For The Leadership Academy
The Indiana REALTORS® Leadership Academy Class of 2022 met for the third time on January 31, 2022. They plugged into Delegation Day #2. Delegation Days are a series of five meetings with REALTORS® from one of IAR’s governance regions and state legislators from that same area. The highlight was meeting up with Leadership Academy graduate and now State Representative Tim O’Brien from Evansville.

On February 14, 2022, KBOR 2022 President, Angie Jarrett and KBOR Director Anna Gilsinger attended the Indiana Association of REALTORS® (IAR) Delegation Days in Indianapolis.

REALTOR® Members Mindy Scaggs, Brian Peterson and Jan Orban Attend State Of The City Address

On Wednesday March 9, 2022, Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer presented his annual State of the City Address. Of the many updates the Mayor provided, he spoke on housing and developments in Warsaw. A 2019 local study of market potential showed that over the next five years, the city will need to accommodate the demand for up to 750 new residential housing units. He also shared an update on the U.S. 30 study. A planning and Environmental Linkages Study was authorized. It will evaluate option to improve traffic safety along the entire existing U.S. 30 corridor. The study is set to begin in the spring and will take two years to complete. On April 4th, Elliot Jerge, Winona IT, gave us an interactive presentation on Cyber Security best practices. He focused on showing our members how to run their businesses securely and safely.

REALTOR® Members Attend YMCA's Good Friday Event
David Goshert; Linda Goshert, Coldwell Banker Real Estate; Amy Evans, Our House Real Estate; Billie Sexton, Keller Williams, and Ashley Black, Patton Hall Real Estate attend the 2022 YMCA Good Friday Breakfast.

A former Major League pitcher who had a harrowing ordeal with cancer tipped his hat on Friday, April 15, to Kosciusko Community YMCA’s program that offers support to those fighting the disease. Dave Dravecky gave the keynote address as part of Kosciusko Community YMCA’s annual Good Friday breakfast held at Christ’s Covenant Church in Winona Lake.

2nd Quarter General Business Meeting
Richelle Cohen Mossler, General Counsel for the Indiana Association of REALTORS®, came to speak with KBOR at our 2nd General Business Meeting on April 20th. She reviewed IAR legal form updates and did a Q & A on Fair Housing issues.

REALTOR® Members Mindy Scaggs and Eric Leamon Attend Annual GPS 2 Success Career Exposition
Juniors and Seniors from area high schools attended the GPS 2 Success Career Exposition event on Wednesday, April 27, held by the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce at the Manahan Orthopedic Capital. From 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. students arrived from Tippecanoe Valley, Warsaw, Wawasee, Fairfield, Whitko and Lakeland Christian schools in 60 minute shifts.
The Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce anticipated 2,000 students from local high schools to attend throughout the day.

Kosciusko County Housing Strategy Class
On May 10th, Heather Presley-Cowan, CEO and Co-Founder of the Housing Resource Hub, came to KBOR to get the word out about a new down payment assistance program they launched in Kosciusko County. She was excited to get in front of our membership to share information about the outreach plan and their efforts on implementing the Kosciusko County Housing Strategy.

Indiana REALTORS® Blood Drive
On August 24th, Versiti Blood Center of Indiana collaborated with KBOR for a Blood Dive at the Eastlake Skating Center in Warsaw.
“Thank you to everyone who came out and donated blood yesterday at the Kosciusko Board of Realtors Community Blood Drive. The summers months are so tough on the blood supply, and you all came through for Hoosier patients this month. THANK YOU!! Time after time, we’ve seen loyal donors like you answer the call to save lives, and always we are humbled by and grateful for your generosity.
At the Kosciusko Board of Realtors Blood Drive, we were able to collect 10 units of blood! That is 30 lives saved.

Steve Zorn has been involved in the field of personal safety and self-defense for over 30 years. He has been trained in dozens of martial arts, including self-defense and close quarter combats systems. Over the years Steve has had the privilege of providing his services to people in all walks of life; law enforcement, security personnel and REALTORS® and Affiliates!

REALTOR® Member Nikky Lewis Graduates from Indiana Leadership Academy
Nicolette “Nikky” Lewis, Broker, Patton Hall Real Estate and a member of the Kosciusko Board of REALTORS, is a recent graduate of the Indiana Association of REALTORS Leadership Academy.
IAR’s Leadership Academy is a year-long training program designed for realtor leaders. Program graduates attain the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively assist buyers and sellers in their markets.

4th Quarter General Business Meeting
On October 19th, KBOR welcomed back guest speaker Mayor Joseph Thallemer.
Warsaw Mayor Joseph Thallemer is currently serving his third term as mayor, having been elected in November of 2011, 2015, and 2019. Previously, Mayor Thallemer served three terms as City Councilman At-Large, serving as City Council president during his last term.
We also presented the 2022 REALTOR® Milestone Anniversary Recognitions and had the induction of New REALTOR® and Affiliate Members!

KBOR Christmas Party
“Angie Jarrett, KBOR president, announced 150 Realtors, affiliates and guests attended the event. There were 17 tables purchased by Realtors and affiliates, which provided $1,700 to go toward the association’s children’s charities. Those charities include scholarships, back-to-school backpacks and boots for scholars.
The annual gathering is a time for a celebration of Christmas and learning who received the Affiliate and Realtor of the Year awards. In addition to announcing the recipients, fun was had by participants bidding on 17 mystery themed silent auction items. Some of the titles for the mystery auction items were “Picture Perfect,” “Cowboy Christmas,” “Brr It’s Cold Outside,” “Baking With Your Dog,” “The Best of Kosciusko,” “Don’t Get Stuck on Me,” and “For the Knotting and the Nice.”
Funds raised through the silent auction also went to the associations children’s charities.
The annual event was held at Tippecanoe Country Club.“
2022 REALTOR & AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR

Brandi Farber and Anna Gilsinger were among four people honored Friday, Dec. 2, at the annual Kosciusko Board of Realtors Christmas Dinner.
Farber, Milford, was named the 2022 KBOR Affiliate of the Year. Gilsinger, Bourbon, was honored with the 2022 KBOR Realtor of the Year.
Also honored were Susie Wert, Milford, and Liz Decker, association executive. Wert was recognized on her retirement from Fidelity National Title and the volunteer work she has done for KBOR on the golf committee and official photographer at every event. Decker was honored for her daily work ensuring the goals and objectives are met, plans fulfilled and member needs met.
